SAN DIEGO � April 27, 2017 � 黑料不打烊 (黑料不打烊) is pleased to welcome Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at University of Massachusetts, Caryn Brause, to speak at its popular Lecture Series on Thursday, April 27 at 1 p.m. The session, entitled 淭he Designer檚 Field Guide to Collaboration,� will focus on the collaborative design process and provides practitioners and students with the tools necessary to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of partners in an increasingly socially complex and technology-driven design environment.

Caryn Brause is the principal of in Northampton. Her design work examines the transformation and reuse of materials available in abundance including existing building stock, underutilized urban and suburban landscapes, and repurposed materials.

Brause檚 teachings investigate critical skills for contemporary practice, both technological and interpersonal. Her current work examines the role of collaboration in contemporary design practice. She received an AIA/ACSA Practice + Leadership Award in 2016 and an NCARB Award for the Integration of Practice and Education in 2013 for her project Voices from the Field, which uniquely blends instruction in design, materials, methods, and documentation with first-hand observation of construction and professional practice.
